WIP Wednesday ...

I'm really looking forward to seeing the spring bulbs and, in anticipation, I'm working on a row of cheerful tulips. I've up-cycled some old bed-linen for material, drawn out my posies and I'm working in tapestry wool and stranded cotton.

My carbon paper and I had a serious parting of the ways ... I hate using dressmaker's carbon paper; it's so annoyingly unpredictable. It doesn't - ever - work with anything that's got any pile to it, and when it does condescend to play along it's so vague in outline that a blind person like yours truly is never totally sure where it is, and invariably ends up working in the wrong place. Argh!

I gave up and, using my ipad as a lightbox, traced my pattern using a water-erasable sewing pen. Chances are I'm not going to be able to get it all to wash out when I'm done, so I may need to add an insect or two to cover my tracks ... .

At the same time I'm working a pair of gentleman's socks in seed stitch. I'm bored working in stocking stitch, and the chaps in my family probably wouldn't go mad for anything lacy, so I'm shaking it up with a little bit of easy-to-achieve texture. It's looking reasonable for now ... and I'm loving Debbie Bliss's Rialto Luxury Sock Yarn. It's a great colourway (the imaginatively named "number 12") and so irresistibly squishy.

Anyway that's all I've got to show for myself. Happy Wednesday!

All the best,

Bonny x
