Iced T

I've come over all summery: my drink of choice in these balmy days of early summer is iced tea. I'm normally a builder's brew type of girl, who occasionally pushes the boat out with an exotic cardamon tea from the Turkish grocery shop. But these days I'm brewing tisanes to chill in the fridge and serve over ice in tall glasses.

It all started when Emi and I showed up an hour early for his orthodontist appointment. Kicking our heels on Regent Street on a hot summer afternoon we were drawn like flies to honey by the lovely T2 shop, which was full of iced T to sample. They're not paying me anything to say this, but it was all really light and fragrant and delicious. We shamelessly tried everything (we had an hour to kill after all) and were both really taken with the tea over ice thing. It so works when the mercury rises and you can't imagine having a hot drink.

We stocked up on a few different flavours, and have been enjoying them with relish at home. It really couldn't be easier to make. Just follow the instructions for a normal hot brew, leave it to cool, and then chill in the fridge. When it's nice and cold, toss some ice cubes into a glass and pour the tea using a strainer.

Enjoy!

Bonny x
